Audio Blog Tour: Zoe & Zak and the Ghost Leopard

About Zoe & Zak and the Ghost Leopard

Move over Percy Jackson.
Find out what everybody is talking about!
If you loved Harry Potter, if you couldn't get enough of Percy Jackson, if you're wondering what to read after The Mark of Athena -- from bestselling author Lars Guignard comes the kids' magic fantasy adventure... GHOST LEOPARD.

Zoe and Zak are lost in exotic India, where gods and magic still exist. Before they can find their way home, they just have to do one little thing...

...Save a mythical creature from an ancient evil that wants to rule the world.

When Zoe Guire goes along on her mom's business trip to India, things get very weird, very quickly. An elephant god speaks to her from the bottom of a swimming pool... She and her classmate Zak get locked in a trunk and shipped off to a strange city near the foothills of the Himalayas... and a crazy snake charmer tells them they've been chosen to protect a mythical creature called the Ghost Leopard from an ancient evil that wants to take over the world.

As they travel deeper into the majestic mountains known as the Realm of the Gods, things get even weirder. If she and Zak want to make it back to their parents, they're going to have to tap into powers they never knew existed.

Because if they don't, things will never be the same for any of us ever again.

My Review

So I've been doing things out of my comfort zone Zoe & Zak and the Ghost Leopard was my first audio book since I was in elementary school. What can I say about this? I wasn't sure of what I should expect, though this had sounded interesting to me (and I wanted to give it a try), I was a bit worried. And, for good reason. I have to give credit to people who listen to audio books often.

Zoe & Zak and the Ghost Leopard is narrated by Bailey S. Carlson, I have to say that I liked her voice, and thought it fit. One thing I remember about having to deal with audio books when I was younger, was I wasn't very fond of the narrators voices.

Listening to the audio book and trying to do something was very hard for me. I would play the audio book on my phone while trying to work and it didn't work out so well. I would have to turn it off because I would stop what I was doing and just listen instead. It worked out better for me when I had time that I didn't have to do anything at all. It was a fun listen and I couldn't help but get caught up in what was going on.

I would give this a 4/5. It's something I imagine myself listening to again, when I have time, and maybe even getting around to buying the book.

About Lars Guignard

Lars Guignard is a former film and television writer and a graduate of both McGill University and the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. His debut thriller novel, Lethal Circuit, has been an amazon top 100 Technothriller since its release.

Guignard has wanted to write Indian stories for kids ever since he attended a boarding school in the majestic Himalayas. The time he spent in the “school above the clouds” affected him profoundly, and once he returned home to North America he was struck by the lack of children’s stories from India available in our culture. Since India is such an incredible country, he decided to write a series of action adventure books for young adults about India to introduce young readers to this magical, mystical land. So if you’re looking for a great book adventure for kids, try Ghost Leopard today!

  1. Jessie, I really appreciate that you chose Ghost Leopard as your first audio book since childhood. I think it's great when people push themselves outside of their comfort zones. In Ghost Leopard, I was constantly putting Zoe outside of her comfort zone, as that is when interesting things happen. Thanks for your post! All the best, Lars

  2. I'm glad that you stepped out of your comfort zone and gave this one a try! I listen to audiobooks all the time when I'm cleaning house and stuff. I have to do brainless activities though, I can't have to focus on something else at the same time. But cleaning house doesn't require much focus or thought, so it works well for me. I have also found that I get better at it the more I do it.
Thanks so much for hosting a tour stop!
