I almost for got to sign up for my own challenge the Quick Fix Challenge. This is one I actually did finish for 2013! Though I did have some difficultly, I have a surprisingly few books that are less than 300 pages, that aren't manga. I'll be singing up for the second level Paperclips: 15 books.
Okay, the 2013 Monthly Key Word Challenge, was one started of with doing rather well, then about halfway through the year, I sort of stopped paying much attention to it. However, hopefully I'll do better in 2014! This challenge is hosted by Bookmark To Blog.
Okay so here is the What's in a name? 2014 challenge hosted by The Worm Hole. This is a challenge, I have attempted in the past, but I never do very well with it... (I do finish challenges guys, I just don't seem to be signing up for many that I have completed before!)
The goal is to read a book whose title that matches each of these:
A reference to time
A position of royalty
A number written in letters
A forename or names
A type or element of weather
I'm going to make a list of possibilities from my TBR list later.
Okay, so this is yet another challenge I didn't do so well for 2013. However, that's not going to stop me from trying again for 2014. This is the 2014 Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge hosted by The Book Vixen. Unlike last year, when I only had none little contemporary romance books on my shelves, I have acquired a few over the past year. To make things easier for me, I'm going to list out the books I do have.
This challenge is hosted by Anne from Creative Corner and Kristilyn from Reading in Winter. The Book Bingo challenge, was one I sort of didn't keep track of in 2013. However, it does seem like fun, so I'm going to give it another try in 2014! I think that reading new releases would be the hardest part for me.
This is the 2014 Chunkster Challenge. I didn't do too well with this challenge in 2013, only reading one. I'm not sure how many chunkster books I have on my shelf so I'm hoping to at least read three this coming year.
2014 Rewind Challenge is hosted by Coffee Bean Bookshelf. This challenge is all about reading those books, we so wanted and haven't gotten to them. I haven't decided how many books, I have so my goal is simply to read the ones I can think of.
Siege and Storm
In 2013 I finally go around to reading some dystopia books. However, I still have a number of them sitting on my shelf that I haven't even gotten to...! I've decided to go with the first level again this year: Recruit (1 to 6 books).
Ahh! I can't believe how close to the end of the year it is! It's time to post up those wrap ups! (If you have before from the Quick Fix Challenge Review Link-Up, you don't have to worry about doing it again.) And for those who have finished the challenge there's a Giveaway!
-Giveaway starts December 1st (today!) and will continue on until the first full week of January (the 11th).
-The winners will be chosen using rafflecopter.
-This giveaway will be International, as long as the The Book Depository delivers to you or are able to receive ebook through Amazon gifting.
-I'll give the winner 48 hours to respond to my email before picking a new one.
-There will be one winner of a book of their choice up to 15 USD.
I've decided to run the Quick Fix Challenge again for 2014!
So about the challenge?
I find that many times when a reading challenge has to do with a book's size it usually about reading bigger books. Sometimes, because I'm in between books, life is getting out of hand, or things are just getting in the way, there's just not enough time to read a big book. Who says bigger is better anyway? Sometimes things break and all you need is a little tape and it'll hold. So this is the "Quick fix Challenge" whether it's a love for smaller books, or just trying to squeeze in a quick read, or maybe times running out and you need to read in some more books quickly. This is a challenge about reading books with less than 300 pages.
The challenge runs from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.
Sign ups will be open until mid December.
You don't have to be a blogger to participate. However, leave a comment and tell me what level you're aiming for.
For bloggers, post up a challenge sign up post saying what level you've signed up for. Be sure to sign-up with your sign-up post in the linky.
You don't have to review the books you read however if you do, you will be able to post your links to your reviews here.
Books have to have less than 300 pages to count.
Books such as MG/YA, graphic novels/manga, audio, rereads, anthologies and short stories, can count toward your goal.
Feel free to crossover the books you read for this challenge with other challenges.
(If you have any questions feel free to ask, I feel like I might be missing something here.)
